Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Magneto Movement, Inc. is a growing $25M manufacturing company with operations in Mauston, WI and Jefferson, OR. Our custom-designed motors and windshield wiper systems are all around you – you probably saw at least one of our products in the last week.

This is a hands-on Controller position responsible for the full accounting operation across both company locations. You'll lead a geographically diverse team of three: an Accounting Manager in Wisconsin, an AR/Payroll Accountant in Jefferson, OR, and a remote AP Accountant. You will work closely with our CFO on strategy, reporting, and financial oversight.

You won't just be closing the books. You'll be building a tighter, faster, more capable finance team while keeping our numbers accurate and our leadership well-informed.

• Lead and maintain a consistent 5-day monthly close cycle
• Prepare consolidated financial statements across entities
• Deliver clear, timely financial reports to management

• Run the weekly cash forecast and monitor cash positions across locations

• Manage tax and insurance filings and coordinate annual audits
• Track and meet all administrative and compliance deadlines
• Ensure accounts are balanced, reconciled, and audit-ready at all times
• Collaborate with leaders of all functions throughout the business to help them make decisions based on accurate financial data
• Manage and develop a team of three accounting professionals across multiple locations and time zones
• Build scalable processes and invest in the continued growth of your team
• Support business analysis across the company

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Manufacturing industry background strongly preferred (cost accounting, inventory, job costing)
• Experience managing a team and working with remote or multi-site staff
• Strong communicator who is able to identify when accounting issues have cross-functional implications and can lead project teams to make improvements (e.g., to improve inventory accuracy, root-cause problem-solving for variances)
• Solid grasp of consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities, and ability to handle complex excel-based accruals and consolidations as necessary
• Comfortable owning compliance deadlines independently
• CPA preferred but not required
• ERP experience required; experience with Microsoft Business Central a plus

• Salary: $115,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience
• Annual performance bonus eligibility (targeting 15% of base depending on individual and company performance)
