Cashier at our Maumee, OH location.

The Cashier reports to the Front End Manager and provides excellent customer service by interacting with every customer in a welcoming, courteous, friendly manner. Responsible for processing the customer’s purchases quickly and accurately. Duties also include bagging customer purchases, answering customer questions and assisting in maintaining a clean and neat store.

• Provide excellent customer service by giving customers full attention during any interaction
• Greet customers in a friendly manner
• Provide customers with a fast and accurate transaction
• Utilize basic math skills to provide customers with accurate change
• Memorize evolving product codes/PLUs
• Responsible for processing cash, check and electronic transactions accurately
• Bag customers’ groceries, keeping in mind the weight of each bag and separating unlike items
• Confirm proper identification for any purchase of alcohol
• Assist customers in locating store items
• Ensure checkout areas of the store are clean and neat
• May be required to gather carts and baskets in absence of Carry Out
• Answer incoming phone calls with the appropriate greeting and transfer when necessary
• Communicate with supervisor on duty/management regarding issues with equipment (e.g. scanners, scales, credit card machines, etc.) and supplies
• Perform light cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned, including but not limited to, sweeping, dumping trash, cleaning restrooms, maintaining coffee grinder, cleaning coffee pots, making coffee, and fronting shelves
• Take direction from Cashier Supervisors
• Any other tasks assigned

• Ability to communicate clearly

• Comfortable interacting with customers, staff, and peers, navigating both positive and negative interactions professionally
• Attention to detail to ensure transaction is completed accurately

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous Cashier or related experience, preferred

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and reaching
• Must be able to frequently lift 10-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
