  • Description:

    Internal To St. Paul's

    • The Pastor has primary responsibility for four groups: youth, teens, young adults, and families.
    • Ensures each age group has a volunteer leader from the congregation.
    • Responsible for managing the volunteer leaders.
    • Builds and maintains relations with the leaders and participants.
    • Leads the Sunday School program, including Catechism curriculum.
    • Works through the Children's Ministry and Family Ministry Mission Area Teams (MATs).
    • Maintains a youth group for students to connect with one another and receive teaching from peers and leaders.
    • Works through the Youth Ministry MAT.
    • Supports the Family Ministry MAT efforts.
    • Shares in the preaching schedule and participates in worship services as requested.
    • Helps lead men's Bible Study.
    • Visits members as requested.

    External To Community

    • Maintains a missional presence in local school systems.
    • Participates in the Maumee Churches United and MERGE groups.
    • Partners with Mosaic Ministries by engaging and mentoring their youth and young men.
    • Supports the social media team.
    • Supports the external communications needs of the church.

    Personal Development

    • Maintains a healthy work/life balance.
    • Takes all vacation time.
    • Attends at least one conference per year.
    • Regularly cultivates deeper intimacy with Jesus.
    • Spends time with friends and loved ones.

    Ideally, the candidate will be a seminary graduate and either be working in a Lutheran congregation, or willing to support Lutheran distinctives. Experience in ministering to youth and families is also preferred.
