This position entails the responsibility of prototyping, testing, and documenting processes for all aspects of Research and Development (R&D) and product building. The R&D location manages approximately 700-800 prototypes annually, which are sent to other sites for further verification and testing.
Responsibilities- Manage the manufacturing and assembly process related to the up-fitting of vehicles.
- Perform a variety of assembly operations using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Verify completed assemblies meet engineering requirements to fulfill customer needs.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to meet timelines and develop on-site early unit production.
- Assist in identifying, implementing, and evaluating lean initiatives to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations, purchasing, and others to develop processes.
- Work with the Quality Engineer to identify quality concerns and help develop and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze and support engineering deviations and change requests.
- Proficient experience with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in automotive settings.
- Experience in vehicle teardown and re‑build.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Capability to perform electrical and mechanical assemblies, including prototype assembly and vehicle development.
- Experience with electric vehicles and electrical systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Vehicle prototype development experience preferred.
- Strong technical background in automotive driveline systems.
- Experience with electric vehicles and high voltage safety knowledge is preferred.
- Safety certifications are beneficial.
- Electrical system diagnostics background and experience.
The work environment is a manufacturing and automotive prototype testing setting. The position operates on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Maumee, OH.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00/hr.
