Position OverviewAs an Automotive Master Technician, you will be the shop’s leading expert on complex diagnostics and heavy repairs. You will work on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and performance issues. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring junior technicians and ensuring our shop maintains the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize scan tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to accurately diagnose complex engine, transmission, electrical, and drivability issues.
- Expert Repair: Perform major mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission replacements, HVAC system repairs, and complex wiring fixes.
- Quality Assurance: Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure the problem is fully resolved and the vehicle is safe for the customer.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and technical advice to junior technicians and lube techs.
- Communication: Work closely with Service Advisors to clearly explain diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and estimated timelines so they can effectively communicate with the customer. Complete digital multi-point inspections and attaching media for the Service Advisors to present to customers via email or text.
- Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of all repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic codes pulled using Pencil Wrench.
- Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and ensure shop equipment is in good working order.
- Certification: Stellantis 23/3E certified or Current ASE Master Automobile Technician Certification (A1-A8) is strictly required. ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience as an automotive technician.
- Equipment: Must possess a comprehensive set of personal professional-grade tools (specialty shop tools and advanced diagnostic equipment will be provided).
- Skills: Exceptional mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of modern vehicle computer systems.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform the physical demands of automotive repair.
