Develop and execute a strategic approach to sell and retain customers in mid‑tier dealer groups (defined as groups with 5–29 stores) in your region. You will drive new business growth at the group level, working with a predetermined list of targetable dealer groups and executing a top‑down strategy to drive growth. You will collaborate seamlessly with Business Development and Dealer Relations peers to nurture growth within the mid‑tier dealer groups, aligning objectives and building cross‑functional collaboration.
Roleand Responsibilities
- Develop a customer acquisition and account management plan to penetrate new mid‑tier dealer group market segment; determine clear lines of ownership and responsibility for partnering with individual Business Development Managers.
- Establish strong group‑level relationships at group leadership level to drive top‑down growth strategy.
- Develop a detailed understanding of organizational structure, ongoing group priorities and key measurement of success.
- Maintain client relationships to increase retention and create new business opportunities.
- Build a pipeline of forecasted opportunities to meet monthly, quarterly and annual quota objectives.
- Establish strong internal communication to collaborate with the existing sales and account management teams.
- Collaborate with mid‑tier sales colleagues and Leadership to develop best practices and ongoing strategy for increasing dealer group adoption.
- 7+ years SaaS sales experience, with particular experience in Enterprise and new business sales.
- Previous success with complex sales involving multiple decision makers and sales cycles of 6+ months.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations for Executive levels within dealer groups.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organizations.
- Experience working with financial and data analytics for measuring dealer performance.
- Good working knowledge of partner ecosystem within the automotive space.
- Experience working with dealer groups within assigned region.
The Strategic Development Manager will report into the VP of Sales. This role requires as much as 80% travel within the region and nationally, as needed. Residence near a major airport may be required (dependent upon territory). A valid driver’s license is required to perform the role.
