POSITION PURPOSEProvides nursing care to assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the policy and procedures of the hospital and Illinois Nurse Practice Act. Nursing care includes assessing, plan of care, implementing, and evaluation of patient care. Assist with providing education to patient/family/significant others. Provides a variety of patient care including but not limited to Foley catheters, NG feeding tubes, Ostomy care, blood glucose testing, oxygen therapy, wound care, and IV therapy.
Is also responsible for educating patients and families on discharge instructions, using age appropriate language and instructions.
Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
Licensed Practical Nursing licensure with the IDPR (current & valid).
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year acute care nursing experience preferred but will do on the job training.
Good interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently; ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing and pulling; motor coordination to work with equipment; ability to understand oral/written instructions; understanding of medical terminology; basic computer skills.
$22.25/hr – $36.16/hr, based on experience and specific experience.
