Position: Perm - Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights) Mattoon, IL

Registered Nurse – Med/Surg (Night Shift) Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $37.23 – $57.71 (based on experience).
  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (2-year commitment required).
  • Relocation: Possible, discussed at interview.
Schedule & Shift Details:
  • Shift Type: Nights.
  • Shift Times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
  • Hours/Day: 12.
  • Weekend Requirements: None.
  • On-Call Requirements: None.
Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized patient care and clinical leadership on the assigned shift. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery while serving as a positive role model for the healthcare team.

Area of Focus:

Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and supervision to the healthcare team during the assigned shift.
  • Coordinates bed and patient care assignments to ensure consistency and quality in care delivery.
  • Pursues ongoing knowledge and skills through orientation, in-service programs, current literature, and other learning opportunities.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates patient care issues to appropriate resources.
  • Collects and evaluates patient data to identify actual or potential diagnoses and issues.
  • Develops and implements individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Supervises care delivered by other team members, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Serves as a positive role model and mentor for other team members.
  • Assesses patient conditions through observation, rounding, and data from other team members.
  • Employs teaching strategies to promote health and safety among patients and staff.
  • Documents and reports patient care, interventions, and outcomes to physicians and relevant team members.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members and participates in appraisal input to management.
  • Engages in professional development through continuing education in communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building.
Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) – Required.
  • Experience: Med/Surg experience highly preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN license in Illinois.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS/CPR – Required within 90 days of hire.
    • ACLS – Required within 90 days of hire.
