Job TitleExtraction Manager
OverviewLooking for a hands-on Extraction Manager to lead ethanol extraction & distillation operations. You'll manage a small team of extraction technicians, oversee Root Sciences equipment, ensure GMP-compliant production, & hit the ground running from day one. This is a high-impact role - perfect for someone ready to take full ownership of lab operations.
Responsibilities- Ensures all extraction duties are safely conducted in full compliance with all state cannabis regulations.
- Executes biomass processing, ethanol extraction, decarboxylation, distillation, product formulation, and manufacturing procedures in an efficient manner that comply with GMP standards, safety measures, SOPs, and all applicable laboratory procedures.
- Ensure processing is executed in accordance with business plans in order to meet revenue and production commitments.
- Ensures compliance and accuracy in all product tracking, product security, and product movement.
- Performs in-process and post-process quality assurance testing to ensure products meet standards for consumption.
- Performs ongoing equipment maintenance and cleaning in accordance with manufacturing SOPs.
- Monitors and manages lab and processing equipment supplies and inventory.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, assisting in their training and development.
- Participate in cross training opportunities to minimally learn the least-skilled position in the grow and cannery operations and substitute as business needs dictate in those positions.
- Uneven surfaces, stand/sit for long periods of time, bending/stooping, or hard surfaces.
- Operation of mobile elevated work platforms as well as forklifts.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Working in a cultivation environment, which can include no natural light, varying temperatures, and louder than normal ambient noise.
- Working in a manufacturing environment near machinery and processes, which require specific training and safety protocols.
- Age: 21 years of age
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience:
must have relationship with Root Sciences equipment - Experience in training, leading and/or mentoring staff or new hires preferred.
- 2 years of experience in cannabis extraction and distillation required.
- Familiarity with standard lab concepts, practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and have the ability to contribute to production optimization.
- Ability to multitask.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and dependent on receiving a state-issued badge.
$85K-$95K
