BIM Technician / Electrical Revit Designer Drafter
Location: Willowbrook, IL.
Job Type: Permanent hire full time
Pay range: (commensurate with experience, education, skills, and market trends)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (onsite/in-person)
Additional Compensation: Potential discretionary bonuses, car allowance, or other incentives.
Electrical industry experience preferred.
The BIM Technician / Electrical Revit Designer Drafter is responsible for advanced modeling and creating working shop drawings to support shop fabrication and field installation on a variety of Electrical construction projects. This role involves coordinating drawings and collaborating closely with Project Managers, Vendors, Engineers, and Field Personnel. The BIM Technician will utilize Autodesk software and other applicable third‑party tools to produce accurate, coordinated, and constructible models.
During the interview you will be asked to do a REVIT modeling exercise of modeling a conduit raceway from one piece of gear to another.
- Assist the BIM Manager in developing strategies to integrate BIM modeling into design and prefabrication processes
- Review and resolve clashes with other trades; participate in coordination meetings
- Work with BIM Manager and Project Managers to address issues identified during coordination
- Analyze project BIM requirements and develop early implementation strategies
- Model and coordinate projects at a LOD 500 Level of Development (LOD)
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper routings, clearances, and obstruction‑free layouts
- Identify and document BIM "lessons learned" for department education
- Follow BIM standards and implementation plans for assigned projects
- Collaborate with field personnel; conduct site surveys and field measurements as needed
- Create and revise submittal documents
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient project completion
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of related construction industry experience with knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Familiarity with BIM
360 and/or Autodesk Cloud preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Windows, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam
- Strong computer skills and aptitude for learning
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to identify and correct errors quickly
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and multitasking ability
- Working knowledge of general construction and electrical parts
