Pit Loader Operator

Overview

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles, while promoting site safety and leadership among truck drivers onsite.

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.

Matthews Quarry, Matthews, North Carolina.

Hours:

7AM - 5PM, weekends as necessary.

• Operating a pit loader within company guidelines and safety standards
• Completing daily pre- and post-inspections of working areas and ensuring they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
• Performing pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and reporting needed repairs to the supervisor
• Ensuring safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers
• Performing daily preventative maintenance – checking tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and all moving parts for proper function
• Maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Operating other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants
• Have six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader (preferred)
