Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong LDRP background.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital setting within an 8-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit
- Patient population includes LDRP and GYN surgical cases, following AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Requires care of newborns, postpartum mothers, and GYN patients
- Uses EPIC for charting, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips and GE fetal monitors, and GE Panda Warmers
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, scheduled every other weekend
- No on-call or call back requirements
- Floating required within the designated regional hospitals and within scope of practice
- Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the assignment location
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, receptionists/HUCs, a charge nurse, case manager, respiratory therapist, OB hospitalist, OB physicians, pediatricians, and lactation consultants
- Orientation includes hospital onboarding and two days of departmental training
- Must work 75% of holidays as scheduled
- Up to 6 days of time off may be approved, excluding holidays, with requirements to fulfill contracted hours
- Navy blue scrubs or business casual to and from work; hospital-issued scrubs required during shifts
- Free parking is available on-site
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
- Experience providing full-scope LDRP care, circulating for C-sections, newborn care including heel sticks and 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting preferred
- First-time travelers will not be considered
