The Community Experience Manager will collaborate with leadership to develop, manage, and execute The Whitaker Group’s community engagement strategy. This role is central to building meaningful relationships with local partners—schools, nonprofits, creatives, and community organizations—while integrating community-driven initiatives into broader brand activations.

This individual will work cross-functionally across the organization to strengthen the bridge between our retail concepts, community spaces, and external networks. They will support the work of community liaisons inside our commerce and concept spaces, ensuring alignment with The Whitaker Group’s mission to drive cultural impact through design, education, and community connection.

Our ideal candidate is a strategic relationship builder who can navigate between brand and community worlds seamlessly. They understand how to operationalize ideas, build partnerships that deliver mutual value, and elevate community presence through collaboration, storytelling, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement strategies that deepen TWG’s community engagement.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of relationships with schools, nonprofits, cultural institutions, creatives, and community organizations across TWG markets.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that align with TWG’s brand pillars and programming matrix.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for community partners, ensuring mutual benefit, accountability, and long‑term collaboration.
  • Represent TWG within community networks, coalitions, and partner meetings to build visibility and trust.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with brand, retail operations, marketing, and creative teams to integrate community insights and opportunities into larger brand initiatives.
  • Support the planning and execution of community components within brand activations, ensuring authenticity and local relevance.
  • Collaborate with Community Liaisons across markets to maintain consistent standards, share best practices, and align programming calendars.
Program & Event Support
  • Assist in conceptualizing and executing community‑led programs and activations within TWG’s community and retail spaces.
  • Support Community Liaisons in day‑to‑day planning, partner coordination, and operational needs tied to local events.
  • Lead post‑event recaps and partner evaluations to measure community impact and inform future programming.
Organizational Development & Reporting
  • Help refine processes and frameworks that streamline community engagement, reporting, and partner management.
  • Track and evaluate partnership outcomes using KPIs that measure engagement, attendance, collaboration, and community impact.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting on community performance for leadership and brand partners.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage budgets for community initiatives in partnership with leadership.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    3–5+ years in community engagement, partnerships, or program management; experience within cultural, nonprofit, or retail spaces preferred.
  • Relationship Management:
    Proven ability to build, maintain, and grow relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Collaboration:

    Comfortable navigating cross‑functional teams and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Communication:
    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Cultural Insight:
    Deep understanding of community ecosystems and the intersection of culture, design, and commerce.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Skilled in project coordination, tracking deliverables, and managing multiple timelines.
  • Tech & Tools:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and project management platforms (Click Up, Asana, Trello, or Monday).
    • Familiarity with presentation tools such as Canva Pro (minimum requirement);
      Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
    • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Midjourney) as part of the workflow to enhance communication, reporting, and creative development.
  • Travel:
    Ability and willingness to travel 1–3 times per month across TWG markets to support programs and partnerships.
  • Work Environment:
    This is a full‑time, in‑office position based in Charlotte, NC.
