Operations Manager
A long-standing construction leader is hiring a seasoned Piping Superintendent to lead complex, self-performed mechanical and piping scopes across high-impact industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and mission-critical projects. This role owns the piping trade on site, directing crews, managing foremen, and representing Century in front of clients while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule are never compromised. You will run the field, assign work packages, attend customer and internal meetings, and keep production moving across multi-million-dollar projects that demand real technical expertise.
They are looking for a hands‑on piping leader from a self-performing MEP contractor who can manage large crews, bring a strong work ethic, and grow with a company that invests in its people for the long term.
- Lead all piping scopes on assigned projects ranging from $10M–$15M+
- Manage and direct multiple foremen and crews
- Break down work into executable packages and assign them to foremen
- Attend client and internal project meetings to provide progress updates
- Serve as the primary field representative for the piping trade
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, and other trades
- Oversee productivity, quality, safety, and schedule compliance
- Adapt to complex, non-cookie‑cutter industrial, and mission‑critical work
- Proven piping superintendent experience from a self-performing MEP subcontractor
- Experience managing large crews and multiple foremen on active job sites
- Strong field leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Carolinas and Southeast
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, technically complex construction environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 30, or willingness to obtain immediately, preferred
- Experience in mission‑critical, pharma, chemical, or manufacturing facilities preferred
- Comfort using iPads, Bluebeam, and digital field tools preferred
- Performance-based bonus
- Tax-free per diem of approximately $130–$180 per day when traveling
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance with gas card
