- After the probation period, we do evaluations every 60 days. If you meet all the requirements for our program, you will be eligible for a raise at each evaluation.

Once Upon a Childcare is looking for a Toddler Teacher to join our team! As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.
Pay starts between $17.00 - $19.00 based on education and experience.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children between 24-36 months of age
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).
Track children's progress and report to parents
Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
Collaborate with other educators.
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience working in a licensed childcare facility
Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system is a plus!
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as a mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
