Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for a PREK Teacher Assistant with a qualifying letter to join our team!

Before your first day, you will need a North Carolina qualifying letter, a recent TB test, and a physical.

Pay starts between $17.00 and $21.00 based on education and experience. On‑going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.

Responsibilities
  • The lead teacher will develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children between 4‑5 year olds and you will help to implement the lesson.
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children.
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self‑esteem.
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc…).
  • Track children's progress and report to parents.
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
  • Collaborate with other educators.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Desired Candidate
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
  • Qualifying letter (Needed before the first day)
  • TB test and Physical
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
  • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
