Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Massillon, Ohio.

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer tools when applicable.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint after assignment.
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with all federal/provincial and corporate safety and compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT).
• Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and supports other duties to aid operations (e.g., Service Island support).
• Participates in OEM maintenance tooling and diagnostic tool programs as required by location fleet mix.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience with mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance and diagnostics (AC and electrical systems)
• Three (3) years or more of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
• All other certifications as required by location
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment
• Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, etc.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background checks as required
