The Packer Operator is an entry level position that is responsible for safely packing aluminum and steel ends, lids, and cans into bags, sleeves, cartons, and/or pallets.
Duties and Responsibilities- Packs aluminum and steel ends, lids, and cans into bags, sleeves, cartons, and/or pallets
- Pays attention to detail – checks product quality
- Use computer to capture data, keep records, and share information
- Sorts and repacks lids, ends, and cans
- Completes required paperwork such as production logs, QA checks, etc.
- Performs all activity with safety of self and others as the number one concern
- Performs general housekeeping and cleanup of the assigned work areas
- Adheres to all safety, quality, and plant policies
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- 1 – 2 Years of prior work experience required
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to professionally communicate and interact with others.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- The team member is frequently required to climb or balance and talk or hear
- The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Generally, works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- The team member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
- The noise level is frequently loud
- The Massillon plant and grounds are tobacco-free. This means that the use of tobacco of any kind will not be permitted anywhere in the building or on Crown property. This also includes prohibiting the use of any electronic cigarette devices.
