, is opening a brand-new Ventilator Care Unit
, and we’re looking for dedicated Vent Registered Nurses (RN) ready to step into a high-acuity, rewarding clinical role. Whether you have ventilator experience or are new to respiratory care, you will receive full training and competency verification by our Respiratory Therapy Director to ensure you feel confident and supported.
This is a consistent evening shift (3PM–11PM) in a modern, resident-focused specialty unit.

Position SummaryAs a Vent RN in our Long-Term Care Vent Unit, you will provide high-acuity nursing care to ventilator- and trach-dependent residents. This role combines strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and compassionate leadership. You will collaborate closely with our Respiratory Therapy Director, Respiratory Therapists, physicians, Charge Nurse, and CNAs to provide exceptional respiratory care and support.
Training & Support- Full ventilator and trach-care training provided
- Competency verification by our RT Director
- Ongoing support, refreshers, and clinical guidance available anytime
- Ideal for RNs who want to expand their clinical skills in a specialty area
Clinical Care
- Perform comprehensive nursing and respiratory assessments
- Monitor ventilator settings, alarms, and patient condition
- Provide trach care, sterile suctioning, and airway management
- Administer respiratory medications and treatments accurately
- Document assessments, progress notes, and care plans
Respiratory Support
- Collaborate closely with RTs and RT Director
- Respond promptly to respiratory distress or changes in status
- Participate in ventilator weaning programs as appropriate
- Maintain infection control standards around all respiratory equipment
Communication & Leadership
- Assist with new unit workflow development
- Maintain a calm, safe, and resident-centered environment
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold all regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting practices
- Active RN license in Ohio
- Ventilator or high-acuity experience a plus, not required
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to remain organized and calm in a fast-paced unit
- Team-focused, compassionate, and dependable
- Evening shift, 3PM–11PM
