Overview
The Jackson Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of full-time Patrol Officer in the Police Department. The mission of the Jackson Township Police Department is to enforce the laws of the State of Ohio in a professional, unbiased manner and to provide courteous service to township residents and visitors. The department includes specialized units such as Detective Bureau, School Safety Division, Cantone SWAT, FBI Safe Streets, Stark County Metro Unit, Property Officer, K‑9, and Community Oriented Policing Model.
Individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Police Academy with OPOTA certification, as well as current Police Officers, are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be a United States citizen
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Police Academy or have recently graduated with an OPOTA certification; or already hold OPOTA certification
