Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with weekend coverage required every other week.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for adults and geriatrics, focusing on those with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry setting.
• Perform advanced monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and manage blood products, including central and peripheral line care.
• Utilize rapid response and code teams effectively.
• Implement non-invasive airway management techniques.
• Maintain patient safety protocols and manage isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry nursing role.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Epic charting system experience is mandatory.
• New York state nursing license must be in hand at the time of application.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and management of various patient conditions is preferred.
