Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 - 19:30) with weekend coverage every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient care on a telemetry unit, performing assessments, and utilizing nursing skills to monitor and treat patients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform patient assessments and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Active New York state nursing license required.
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
