AUTISM Support Professional; Massapequa, NY

Shift Details

This shift is 40 Hours per week: FLEX working mainly evenings and overnights.

The pay rate range for this position is $21.00-$22.57 per hour depending on years of prior experience with NYS OPWDD programs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year experience supporting people with Autism
• Prior experience assisting persons with developmental disabilities preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver’s license required

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence.
• Implementation of Residential Habilitation Plans.
• Implement innovative Behavior Support Plans with effectiveness and efficiency ensuring that accurate data is being collected to measure each person’s progress.
• Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living.
• Provide training and support for each individual in accordance with the individual program plan.
• Provide assistance and instruction to each individual in basic activities of daily living which could include two person lift of individuals where necessary.
• Successful completion of the AMAP course and annual recertification for administration purposes.
• Successful completion of the Life’s WORC Autism Training Workshop.
• Scheduling flexibility. May be required to work beyond the normal shift.
• Drive agency vans that are equipped with GPS monitoring systems and demonstrate safe driving practices. Ensure cleanliness of vehicles. Maintain vehicle logs.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Proper use and maintenance of household equipment and appliances.
