Job Overview
The Bristal Assisted Living is seeking a creatively compassionate, hands‑on Lifestyle Coordinator to assist in presenting and coordinating recreational programs for our assisted living residents, including those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia in our Reflections Memory Care neighborhood.
You will assist residents in adjusting to a new concept of living at our luxury assisted living community, encouraging continued pursuits, fostering new interests, and planning safe trips to destinations like art galleries, theaters, music venues, racetracks, sports events and cultural programs.
You will also prepare, print, distribute monthly calendar, newsletters, memos, and perform planned activities in the absence of the Director of Recreation.
Qualifications- One year’s prior experience working with a senior population, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia a plus
- At least 6 months of recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience, preferably in assisted living, long‑term care or similar industry setting
- Outgoing, warm, genuine caring personality
- Ability to create programs that engage and excite residents
- Dependable, able to supervise activities, special events and safe excursions for residents
- Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance etc.
- Always well‑groomed and properly attired
- Demonstrates good listening, communication skills, positive spirit and professional attitude
- Proven ability to lead classes and instructional sessions, speaking in front of a group with ease, confidence, clarity
- High school diploma or equivalent at minimum
