Utility Equipment Operator II - D&C - Chatham County/Siler City location Qualifications- We are looking for a detailed individual who possesses thorough knowledge in the operation, maintenance, capabilities and limitations of equipment used in area of assignment.
- Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and proper safety precautions involved in the operation of equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation.
- Thorough knowledge of City and department policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge in understanding various manuals associated with assigned equipment.
- General knowledge in preparing reports and other documents.
- Thorough knowledge in the operation of the equipment required for the position.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to detect signs of mechanical failure of equipment.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
- Ability to make arithmetic computations.
- Ability to use measuring devices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
- The position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and moderate experience in performance of manual work and in the operation of motorized equipment.
- Possession of a valid North Carolina Class “B” commercial driver's license upon hire; may also require North Carolina Class “A” commercial driver’s license.
- Must meet and maintain all certification, license and training requirements for the division which assigned to include but not limited to Confined Space, North Carolina DOT Flagger, Work Zone and Traffic Control, Trenching and Excavation, Asbestos Silica, and Lock-Out Tag-Out within six months of employment.
