Position: Office Support Staff, Camp Grossman, Summer Day Camp 2026
Location: Dover

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy keeping things organized? Are you patient and kind, with a customer-service mindset? JCC Camp Grossman is looking for office staff to offer administrative support during our busy camping season in our summer camp office. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our office by providing administrative assistance, keeping track of our camp database, and, most importantly, serving as a friendly and welcoming first point of contact for all callers, as well as for families and campers as they come into camp.

Primary

responsibilities include, and are not limited to:
  • Ability to communicate with co‑workers, the leadership team, families and campers
  • Maintain office supplies and ensure the workspace is organized and functional
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing parent concerns, resolving parent and camper issues, and ensuring our camp families feel listened to and understood.
  • Answer and direct phone calls and other inquiries to the appropriate staff
  • Efficiently relay updates or changes in camper transportation plans to the appropriate staff members, ensuring smooth coordination and minimal disruptions
  • Transport (on foot or Golf Cart) campers to and from activities when needed
  • Welcome all campers, staff and families who enter the Camp Office
Standard staff expectations include and are not limited to:
  • Actively create a welcoming dynamic that contributes to an environment where everyone is valued and respected
  • Actively participate as an essential team member and attend all staff meetings during or after camp as required
  • Support JCC Greater Boston’s mission, vision, and values of belonging, joyfulness, collaboration, and transformation, including through role‑modeling
  • Enthusiastically represent the organization, modeling excellence and achievement
  • Complete all staff payroll and onboarding on time and before Orientation begins
  • Complete all pre‑camp asynchronous online training modules and attend all pre‑camp in‑person orientation sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Details

We are an outdoor camp, located on beautiful, wooded property in Dover, MA. This is an hourly position, for 8.5 hrs/day, Monday – Friday, for the camp season. The regular Camp day begins when you arrive at Camp (typically between 7:30am and 8:00am) and ends between 4:00pm and 4:30pm. Offering great perks, including JCC Health & Fitness center access, a supportive, vibrant in‑person work environment, and a competitive starting pay rate of $16 per hour.

The pay rate offered will ultimately be determined by relevant qualifications, experience and JCC's internal equity.

* The regular camp season begins June 29 and ends August 21. Orientation takes place the week of June 22 and ends with Visiting Day (a pre‑camp visit for all campers and families to meet staff) on Sunday, June 28. While we prefer staff who can start Orientation Week and work the entire 8‑week regular season, we may consider quality candidates who may have conflicting obligations.
