IFM Electrician (Journeyman) – JLL What this job involves:
Join JLL's Integrated Facility Management team as an IFM Electrician (Journeyman) in Devens, MA, where you'll be the electrical systems expert ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. You'll take ownership of complex MEP systems across interior and exterior building environments, from routine preventive maintenance to emergency response situations. This role combines technical expertise with problem‑solving as you diagnose, repair, and optimise electrical systems up to 600 V, building automation controls, and specialised facility equipment.
You'll work in a dynamic environment where your electrical knowledge directly impacts facility performance and occupant safety, making you an essential part of JLL's commitment to operational excellence.
- Perform electrical system operations, maintenance, and installations including preventive maintenance programmes and emergency repairs on low‑ and high‑voltage equipment up to 600 V
- Troubleshoot and repair complex building systems including DDC controls, BAS systems, HVAC components, motors, VFDs, and commercial kitchen equipment
- Conduct facility inspections and respond to work orders while prioritising preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks
- Rebuild or redesign control systems as needed, working with access control, security systems, and proprietary equipment
- Collaborate with other departments on HVAC‑related electrical components and maintain compliance with NFPA 70E standards using appropriate Arc‑Flash PPE
- Manage inventory levels, prepare purchase requests, and document all work performed and materials used
- Respond to tenant service requests and emergency situations while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment
- Active Massachusetts Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master) credential
- 3‑5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems and general building maintenance
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to work on energised equipment up to 600 V
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 28 ft using ladders and aerial lifts, and perform overhead work
- Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS), CMMS systems, and MS Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in confined spaces and on building roofs
- Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised electrical equipment
- NFPA 70E annual training, OSHA 10/30 certification, Hot‑Work Permit training, and CPR certification
- Specialised training in electronics, PLCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and proprietary lighting or door control systems
- Experience in GMP‑regulated or biomedical facility environments with multi‑discipline technical background
- Working knowledge of proprietary door control systems (Stanley, Dorma, Lift Master) and security/interlock systems
- Aerial Lift/Working at Heights (WAH) training and college or technical degree
- 3‑5+ years of experience in biomedical or similar regulated facility environments
- Experience with preventive maintenance programmes and facility capital improvement planning

Salary/Comp:$45.67 to $55,22 hourly
