The salary range for this position starts at $33.15 and progresses in accordance with the union contract. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

Only WMECO bargaining unit employees will be considered at the helper level. All other candidates must be fully-qualified.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • It is preferred that individuals hold a valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL) and satisfactory clean driving record, but are required to have the ability to acquire and/or maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be physically able to perform the “essential duties” of the Electrician position, as described above.
  • Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers.
  • Candidates must also possess an E1 or E2 license or a MASS Journeyman Electrician License or have successfully completed the TMP (time merit progression) for electrician.
  • Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required and live within 30 minutes of the reporting location
  • Must successfully pass the Edison Electric Institute Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) Test, which is a requirement to be selected for this position. To access the brochures and practice tests, go to EEI's website and enter "eversource" as the name and "test" for the password.

Eversource Energy has a position available in the Substation and Maintenance Department for an Electrician. In order to be considered for this opening, candidates should hold a valid Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrician license (or the equivalent) and have a valid drivers license and CDL along with Hazmat endorsement (or the ability to obtain both).

This position will be designated shift work with the possibility of Saturday as a workday and a four, ten-hour workweek may be scheduled.

The ability to work in inclement weather and be willing to work outside of your assigned district are required. Individual may be required to job-site report.

In order to be considered for this opening, candidates should hold a valid Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrician license (or the equivalent) and have a CDL and Hazmat endorsement (or the ability to obtain both).
