Job DescriptionA Fire Alarm Technician programs, tests, and maintains fire alarm systems using specialized software and equipment to ensure reliable performance and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Design and program fire alarm systems to meet client requirements and applicable code regulations.
- Test and troubleshoot systems to guarantee functionality.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and prepare reports as needed.
- Stay informed of changes in codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and industry best practices.
- Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with all safety protocols.
- Experience programming, testing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency with specialized software and equipment used for fire alarm programming.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform job duties.
- Completion of a related degree or certification program may be required.
- Work in difficult positions including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet; work within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer schedules.
- Overnight travel may be required.
