Eaglebrook School actively seeks a qualified candidate for a full‑time position in the Department of Safety & Security. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Security, Security Officers at Eaglebrook School implement a community‑based safety and security support model while serving as the primary responders to campus emergencies. The vacant position will staff Tuesday through Saturday from 10pm – 6am and will assist with event staffing throughout the year.
Eaglebrook School considers this position essential and will staff it on holidays, during inclement weather, and in other contingencies.
- Emergency Response Officers: Respond to and assist with all emergency calls, including but not limited to fire alarms, security alarms, door alarms, medicals, and 911 emergency calls. Investigate any reports of suspicious activity. Activate the campus emergency notification system when necessary.
- Safety & Security Functions Officers: Proactively patrol campus by foot, bicycle, and vehicle; answer all calls for service; ensure the physical security of buildings; unlock/lock buildings by schedule and request; conduct fire and safety code inspections; monitor security cameras; alarm and disarm security alarms; direct traffic; cross pedestrians; and promote the safety and well‑being of all community members on campus.
- Community Relations Officers: Support the campus community by establishing positive, collaborative relationships. Engage in appropriate conversations with community members, proactively assist with problem‑solving, and educate community members about campus safety and security. Attend all community events, including mealtimes, assemblies, and sporting events.
- Administrative Functions Officers: Document all campus activity in a daily activity log; complete incident or fire alarm reports, as necessary, in a timely manner; document and report findings of all fire code and safety inspections; attend training on or off campus as scheduled; and assist with other duties as assigned.
- Conduct Officers:
Behave in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner; comply with all Eaglebrook School policies and Safety & Security departmental policies; maintain confidentiality of all daily activity logs and reports; and work any assigned shifts, events, or details.
- 1-3 years of customer service‑based experience
- Can effectively interact with adults, adolescents, and children
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and work as a team member
- Ability to learn and operate internet and mobile‑based applications and email
- Ability to effectively work in high‑stress situations
- Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions for long periods of time
- First Responder and CPR/AED preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
