OverviewJob Summary:
This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Assist guests in choosing foods and bakery products. Share knowledge about the ingredients and preparation of products at the counter. Take customer orders, upsell products, operate a cash register/POS system, handle cash, credit card, and gift card transactions.
- Leads and evaluates the Counter Attendant position.
- Count down registers and separate the cash drop from the bank; reestablishes new banks for counter attendant drawers; facilitate breaks; take inventory and prepare purchase orders based on inventory par; process voids and discounts; manage labor allocations.
- Attend management meetings as scheduled; input management logbook entries; adjust labor based on sales trends or forecasts; administer pre-shift briefings for the team.
- Provide outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds guest expectations; assist guests in choosing foods and bakery products; share knowledge about ingredients and preparation of products at the counter; take customer orders and up-sell products.
- Operate a cash register/POS system; handle cash, credit card, and gift card transactions.
- Fill supplies by obtaining items from the storage area; make coffee and lift coffee urns; lift and move large trays of bakery products.
- Stock counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as directed and in a timely manner.
- Package products for sale by removing from trays, placing into bags or boxes, and displaying on the sale area.
- Ensure display foods are merchandised attractively per quality standards.
- Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events.
- Support a positive attitude toward the Company; follow all company policies per Employee Handbook and Café Operations Handbook.
- Perform daily café duties as directed by Café Management and maintain safety and sanitation standards for equipment, tables, utensils, floors, and related areas.
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
- Physical requirements include hearing, speaking, seeing, carrying, bending, walking, kneeling, reaching; ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation; able to manage lifting coffee urns and trays of baked goods; must speak, write and understand English.
- Actively support a culture of safety including food safety, team member safety, and customer safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, and floors to ensure safety and sanitation compliance.
- Minimum of 3 years of food and beverage experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of quick-service restaurant experience.
- Exhibit professional behavior at all times.
- Be knowledgeable of and promote good business practices related to harassment, discrimination, and hostile environments in the workplace.
- Remain aware of and compliant with company policy and government regulations in regards to employment practices, as communicated by Human Resources.
- Remain calm during stressful and hectic periods; arrive on time and fulfill duties as scheduled.
- Make arrangements for job duties during absences; be present during staffing shortages.
- Maintain a positive attitude about the Company and co-workers.
