Job DescriptionThe Quality Inspector III serves as a senior-level quality professional responsible for performing advanced inspections, mentoring junior inspectors, and driving process improvements within the Quality Management System. This role requires deep knowledge of inspection techniques, standards, and quality processes and acts as a key liaison between Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform complex and detailed inspections on materials, components, and assemblies to ensure full compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Lead and oversee the coordination of inspection and functional line test activities within the manufacturing system.
- Train and mentor Quality Inspector I and II personnel on inspection methods, documentation practices, and quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and assist in corrective/preventive actions for nonconforming materials.
- Write and manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
- Support and improve AS9100-compliant QMS processes, forms, and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Supply Chain to evaluate supplier quality and provide feedback.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on inspection accuracy, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Maintain a high level of professional competence and represent the Quality department in cross‑functional meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience (electronics or machining industry strongly preferred).
- Expert knowledge of inspection equipment, measurement systems, and calibration practices.
- Strong familiarity with MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-750, and AS9100 standards.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Axapta preferred) and quality databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data entry and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead others effectively.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- This position required travel of 0 - 10%.
