Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions. The NP performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, develops appropriate plans of care, and conducts ongoing evaluations. The NP may also perform additional duties such as precepting a small group of learners.

- Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population.
- Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing. - Licenses and Credentials:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP - State License). - Experience:
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience. The role does not accept experience in lieu of a required degree. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in taking medical histories, maintaining quality control standards, handling emergency situations calmly and effectively, interpreting and applying guidelines and procedures, and communicating clearly to establish effective relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
