Reporting to the Director of Gifts & Gratitude and collaborating closely with the development team, the Gift Officer is responsible for identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of mid-range individual donors. This portfolio includes donors giving personally or through donor‑advised funds or family foundations. The Officer will manage a mix of active donors and prospects, making initial contact, securing personal visits, and working with the CEO, Director of Gifts & Gratitude, and the development team to retain or recover existing donors, attract new supporters, and further Kripalu’s fundraising efforts.
The Gift Officer will also serve as a steward to funders, working to build long‑term relationships and partnerships. Kripalu’s focus on expanding its partnerships within the Berkshires and beyond—including engaging diverse communities and supporting activists for social change—provides a dynamic backdrop for this role. Kripalu seeks a motivated, energetic individual eager to grow their skills in philanthropic leadership and contribute to the growth of its most impactful programs.

- Manage a portfolio of individual donors to meet annual fundraising goals.
- Articulate and promote Kripalu’s expanding Impact programming and scholarship initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure appropriate outreach and engagement with donors.
- Stay informed about evolving fundraising practices, contributing innovative ideas to enhance existing initiatives.
- Strong ethics, integrity, and self‑awareness aligned with Kripalu’s organizational values.
- Ability to build effective relationships, understand customer expectations, and propose mutually beneficial solutions.
- Strong writing, presentation, and financial literacy skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Adaptability and quick learning, applying new insights to achieve success.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both internally and externally, to lead and inspire others in alignment with Kripalu’s vision.
- Minimum of3years’ experience in the field of fundraising, with demonstrated success as a1:1fundraiser,andas abuilder of productive internal and external relationships.
- Impeccable integrity, judgment, and discretion along with a professional demeanor and interpersonal style that elicits trust from leadership, funders, staff, public officials,and partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office business tools, including Word, Excel, Power Point
- Proficiency with use of donor databases;
Raiser’s Edge NXT experience would be ideal.
