Duties- Assemble and align free-space optical components, including lenses, mirrors, and other optical elements.
- Perform optical system integration and troubleshooting, ensuring all components meet specifications and performance standards.
- Use precision tools and equipment such as microscopes and optical mounts to assemble and test the laser head.
- Conduct tests on finished assemblies to ensure functionality, optical performance, and alignment.
- Document assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered during assembly.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve issues and improve assembly procedures.
- Follow company standards for safety and quality control throughout the assembly process.
- Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
- Technical school graduate or equivalent experience
- Competent in the use of optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
- Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
- Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
- Works well independently and assumes responsibility for own work.
- Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information.
- Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
- Understands when to request guidance from superiors and the proper chain of command.
