Injection Molding Technician – West Bridgewater, Massachusetts
Job
PAYS: $28-$34 HOURLY (DOE)
SHIFT: MON-FRI 6AM–2:30PM
Position SummaryThe Molding Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing complex maintenance, repair, and modification of injection molds and related molding equipment. This role requires hands‑on experience with injection molding processes, plastic polymers, and precision tooling. The technician will work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of injection molds on the production floor
- Disassemble, assemble, fit, and test injection molds to ensure proper operation
- Repair and rebuild molds through welding coordination, machining, polishing, and finishing
- Verify mold and tooling conformance to specifications using precision measuring equipment
- Work consistently to close tolerances and tight specifications
- Read and interpret mold drawings, tool prints, and part prints
- Recommend mold design changes and tooling improvements
- Operate cranes and lifting equipment to safely remove and relocate molds
- Maintain and clean tool room equipment and work areas
- Assist the Senior Molding Maintenance Technician with maintenance planning and execution
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and support implementation
- Maintain product safety, quality, legality, and regulatory compliance
- Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements
- Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of hands‑on injection molding experience
- Experience working with plastic polymers
- Ability to handle, fit, and repair tight‑tolerance mold components
- Ability to read and comprehend mold, tool, and part prints
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Self‑motivated with good organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to follow safety guidelines in a production environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience using tool room equipment such as grinders and mills
- Continuous Improvement experience
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturing environment
