The successful Production Planner will plan, schedule, coordinate and/or monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
Key Accountabilities- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements.
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedules.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure that production demands are met, working with manufacturing, engineering, quality and warehouse; monitor inventory levels and establish safety stock levels over a set horizon.
- Utilize ERP system to generate manufacturing work orders/kanbans and release them to warehouse for picking and delivery to manufacturing.
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages to determine new delivery and completion dates for end products; develop shortage lists as required.
- Notify customer service of any schedule impacts to customers via the consensus plan.
- Establish, track and maintain consensus plan by reports, such as production progress, customer information and material inventory; exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Interact with cross‑functional groups and prioritize your product line.
- Have the ability to analyze and understand MRP data within an ERP system.
- Address safety stock inventory levels and demand forecasts; make informed decisions and develop effective production schedules and recovery plans.
- Understand high‑level revenue requirements for your program and impacts associated with schedule changes.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, BOMs in a manufacturing environment.
- Communicate, collaborate with internal teams, and convey information clearly and concisely; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Adapt to changing priorities and project requirements; be flexible and agile in your approach to meet evolving business needs.
- Prioritize customer needs and requirements, whether internal stakeholders such as production teams or external customers; ensure materials are available on time and meet quality standards for customer satisfaction.
- Conduct yourself ethically in all interactions with colleagues and stakeholders to maintain trust and credibility as part of our values.
This position offers a salary range of $62,738 – $94,107. Final salary offers are determined by multiple factors, including education, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and the candidate’s expertise, and therefore may vary from the range listed. For roles based outside Massachusetts, the applicable salary range may be lower.
