The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, the Manager of Maintenance and Projects plans, directs, coordinates and assists with the completion of Facilities projects and daily campus maintenance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Project Management- Manage maintenance and construction projects performed by subcontractors and in-house trades staff, ensuring effective communication and coordination with other departments. Ensure a high standard of workmanship, function and aesthetics
- Collaborate with Facilities team to problem-solve and evaluate emerging building issues and/or maintenance needs. Manage and perform day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and improvements to facilities. Emphasis placed on summer maintenance needs in campus buildings, dormitories, and campus housing.
- Manage and assist as appropriate in evaluating and making repairs due to sudden or emergent situations, such as flooding, fire, roof leaks, or critical mechanical system failures.
- Develop ongoing list of needed maintenance or construction project tasks and work closely with Director of Facilities Operations to define the work scope and priorities for the work. Develop annual budget projections for needed work, and request that funding is appropriately earmarked for the work in a current or upcoming budget cycle
- Develop specific project budgets and manage project costs associated with materials, vendors, and contractors. Apprise stakeholders, including Facilities trades teams, of budget expectations. Track and monitor budget status and provide updates to Director of Facilities Operations as appropriate milestones
- Develop appropriate project schedules that minimize disruption and consider the cadence of the school year. Manage project timelines to ensure work is completed on schedules that allow the workspace to return to intended use at the expected deadline, with appropriate allowances for product curing or cleaning by other teams. Ensure timely and effective communication with affected parties about planned work.
- Establish, maintain and nurture relationships with vendors that provide specialty and routine services (such as carpentry or painting) to ensure adequate supplemental resources
- Collaborate effectively with facilities management team to ensure selections of campus fixtures, materials, and equipment meet agreed standards.
- Maintain orderly records of project correspondence and permits, blueprints and “as builts” from projects and copies of Operations Manuals or warranties for all campus equipment
- Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety Manager to ensure work being performed is compliant with safety and environmental regulations
- Collaborate on projects with Manager of Construction Projects and Planning and/or Project Manager Capital Improvements, as necessary

Job Specifications- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience required
- 7-10 years’ experience in all aspects of supervision, construction and project management
- Valid Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License
- Ability to prioritize and work within established deadlines
- Knowledge of building construction and building codes
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets
- Sensitivity to confidential information
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read blueprints, product specifications, and vendor submittals
- Strong technology skills including MS Office Suite and Google Drive
- Strong attention to details
- Maintain necessary lead paint certificates
- Be available on an “on-call” basis to solve facilities’ issues on nights and weekends
- Ability to stay current on building codes, licensures and certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
