We are looking for a Part Time Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Commons in Lincoln
, a premiere 35-acre campus of Benchmark proud to be named one of the Boston Globe's Top Places to Work for over a decade. In this role the Maintenance Technician performs repairs (both minor and major). You will implement regular and preventive maintenance programs that promote a sense of well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents and staff and communicate with the Plant Operations Director on the condition of buildings and equipment.

SELF-STARTER? HANDYMAN? RELIABLE? A successful candidate plays a vital role in the property's day-to-day impression on existing and prospective residents. Would be expected to maintain a high level of quality customer service and professionalism while ensuring that all Benchmark maintenance policies and procedures are consistently followed.

Responsibilities

  • Works effectively within the work-order system.
  • Performs general maintenance work (light electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC etc.)
  • Proper use of tools, equipment and chemicals (hand tools such as drills, saws)
  • Mail deliveries
  • Trash removal for common areas
  • Aid in maintaining common areas and grounds
  • Respond to resident service requests and concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with our residents, coworkers, vendors and visitors

Requirements

  • Familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused.
  • Demonstrates the interest and ability to learn new skills and techniques as needed.
  • Demonstrates proper usage of chemicals and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and capability to respond to site emergencies.
  • Ability to learn software application(s) - work order system
  • Experience with all phases of building maintenance, a plus
