Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Thirwood Place, Cape Cod's premier senior living community, is seeking a dynamic & motivated candidate for our team as Maintenance Technician.

• Responsible for maintenance operations of the interior & exterior areas of the building.
• Responds to residents' maintenance concerns.
• Responds & maintains all building related safety concerns & resident requests.
• Maintain all areas of Thirwood Place by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, & tile to ensure attractive & well-maintained facility.
• Survey building & repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health & safety standards.
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration & other systems & conduct repairs when necessary.
• Maintain heating & plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Replenish supplies & keep storage areas & carts well-stocked, clean, & tidy.
• Set meeting spaces & manage garbage removal.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.).
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
• Conduct general upkeep procedures & other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.).
• Basic understanding of electrical & other systems.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture & draperies, using vacuum cleaners & carpet extractor.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings & woodwork, wax & polish floors as necessary.
• Remove debris from driveways, garages, & swimming pool area.

• Knowledge of general maintenance processes & methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances & devices.
• Manual dexterity & problem-solving skills.
