* 2 positions Qualifications
We are looking for a detailed individual who possesses general knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in the installation, replacement, maintenance and repair of utility lines; general knowledge of a variety of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of utility lines and appurtenances; some knowledge in preparing reports, logs, and other documents; general knowledge in the use of standard office equipment and associated software;
general knowledge in the use of the equipment required for the position; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to make arithmetic computations; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to make S.S.O. calculations, footage calculations, and pipe size, diameter and capacity calculations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
The position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license upon hire, with the ability to obtain a North Carolina Class “B” commercial driver's license (CDL) within six months of employment. Successful candidates currently holding a NC Class "B" or Class "A" CDL would be hired 5% above the listed salary.
Must meet and maintain all certification, license and training requirements for the division which assigned to include:
Confined Space, North Carolina DOT Flagger, Work Zone and Traffic Control, and Trenching and Shoring within six months of employment.
