Associate Attorney

Since 1981, Ballin Law has been a results‑driven plaintiff personal injury firm with a long‑standing commitment to advocating for injured clients and their families with a special focus on representing first responders. Our firm is growing rapidly and seeking another attorney who is motivated to work hard and accomplish major wins for our clients.

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team on a litigation track. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney who is eager to take ownership of cases, sharpen research and writing skills, and grow into a confident litigation and trial attorney with hands‑on mentorship. Those who have strong backgrounds in these areas will be stand out.

This role offers a unique chance to manage your own caseload while working closely with senior attorneys on active litigation matters. You will receive direct guidance from experienced trial lawyers who are invested in teaching, mentoring, and helping you develop the skills needed to succeed in litigation over the long term.

• Manage a portfolio of personal injury cases from intake through resolution or litigation.
• Work directly with senior attorneys on litigation files, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft clear, persuasive memoranda, motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage with guidance from senior attorneys.
• Assist with discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation as experience develops.
• Draft demand packages and assist with negotiations and settlement discussions.
• Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, and internal team members to ensure excellent client service.
• Help improve firm processes, organization, and case management systems.

• A driven, detail‑oriented attorney who is eager to learn and grow in litigation.
• Active Massachusetts law license in good standing (Rhode Island license a plus).
• Strong research and writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
• Attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases.
• Prior experience in personal injury, litigation, or clerkship experience is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation law is a plus.
