IN-HOUSE COUNSEL

Essex Group Management, located in Rowley, MA, is a family owned and operated business servicing the health care needs of seniors for more than 50 years.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated attorney to work in our Corporate Office who can thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to our long-term strategic objectives.

Provides hands‑on counsel to all levels of executive staff and assists in managing the operations of the legal department.

Responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents, presenting clear recommendations and assuring legal compliance.

Reviews, modifies, negotiates and drafts contractual agreements between the Company and its affiliates and third parties.

Coordinates and manages outside counsel and litigation matters.

Assists our eldercare programs and facilities with collection matters.

Assists with real estate matters, including but not limited to drafting purchase and sale agreements, reviewing and modifying lender loan documentation and attendance at closings.

Juris Doctor Degree and strong academic credentials

Admission to the Massachusetts Bar

Understanding of healthcare business principals, Medicare and Medicaid licensure and regulatory requirements, healthcare compliance, payor arrangements, HIPAA, HITECH, fraud and abuse laws including STARK and ANTI-KICKBACK.

At least three years’ experience,

Excellent organizational and time managements skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required.

Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $110,000
