Description
SHINE SPECT is seeking a Quality & Lab System Administrator who will be responsible for effective management, maintenance, and support of laboratory information management systems, specifically Lab Vantage, Empower and Assur
X. This role consistently delivers high-quality services and products to customers to ensure end users are supported in their use of these platforms. The Lab Administrator acts as a primary contact for system troubleshooting, upgrades, and user training. Strong GxP and Computer system Validation CSV skills are required. This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on‑site two to three days per week, and is open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
The base salary range for this position is $128,000 - $177,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Quality & Labs Administrator- Administer and maintain the Lab Vantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS) and Assur
X Quality Management Systems (QMS). - Configure, update, and troubleshoot Lab Vantage, Empower and Assur
X systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with laboratory standards. - Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings within both platforms.
- Provide technical support and training to laboratory staff on Lab Vantage, Empower and Assur
X functionalities. - Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and ensure data integrity and security.
- Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and integrations with IT and vendor teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and training materials related to Lab Vantage, Empower and Assur
X. - Serve as a liaison between laboratory personnel, IT, and external vendors for system-related issues and enhancements.
- Support laboratory workflow optimization by leveraging system functionalities and recommending process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP, GLP) in system configuration and data management.
- Integrate instruments with LIMS using Java scripting and field mapping for Empower System administration.
- Manage users and user types, project modifications, backups, restorations, node configuration, system configuration and integration with nodes, including LAC/e server configuration and integration with HPLC/GCs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience administering Lab Vantage or similar LIMS systems and Empower CDS in a laboratory environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, data management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for training and supporting laboratory staff.
- Process analysis, requirements gathering, support, configuration, development, and system administration for Lab Vantage or similar LIMS.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with system integrations, upgrades, and vendor management is preferred.
- Familiarity with FDA, GMP, and GLP regulations is a plus.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, eligibility may be conditioned upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre‑employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
