JGPR is seeking its Digital Services Manager, a hands‑on leader of JGPR’s Digital Division, serving as both the technical and web design/management lead and the supervisor of all Digital Associates, Junior to Senior, including freelancers (Web Designers, Programmers, Plugin Authors, Photographers, and Graphic Designers).
The Digital Services Manager actively works on websites and digital projects while also directing, supervising, and coordinating the Digital Division team, which currently has 2-3 employees. This position reports to the Vice President of Digital & Enterprise Accounts, who sets strategic direction, and the Digital Services Manager ensures that strategy is executed accurately, on time, and to JGPR’s standards.
The Digital Services Manager is deeply involved in the day‑to‑day production of websites, troubleshooting, hosting, and digital services, while also maintaining responsibility for staff performance, client satisfaction, and overall division workflow.
Because JGPR provides mission‑critical websites for municipalities, school districts, police departments, fire departments, and public‑safety agencies, this role requires 24/7 availability to respond to website outages, cyber issues, and urgent client needs.
Core ResponsibilitiesThe Digital Services Manager has four core responsibilities:
- Hands‑on delivery of website and digital services
- Direct oversight, supervision, and development of Digital Division staff
- Ensuring all day‑to‑day digital operations and client relationships run smoothly
- Training clients on their responsibilities related to their websites and digital products, minimizing unnecessary and unpaid service calls
- Design, build, and maintain client websites on the Word Press platform
- Configure themes, plugins, and site features
- Ensure all sites are mobile‑responsive, ADA‑compliant/accessible, and functional
- Troubleshoot website errors, broken forms, plugin conflicts, and display issues
- Perform quality control on all websites before and after initial launch
- Assist with hosting, backups, security, and performance
- Serve as the direct manager for all Digital Division employees & assigned clients
- Monitor all Digital Division inboxes and client requests to assign, prioritize, and track staff work
- Track website inquiries, hosting tickets, and technical support needs
Review and approve completed work - Coach staff on technical skills, workflows, and best practices
- Provide daily support and guidance
- Identify training needs, performance issues, and growth opportunities
- Monitor project timelines, deadlines and ensure projects are delivered on time
- Coordinate photography, design, and web build schedules
- Conduct periodic and annual reviews of subordinate employees
- Maintain high client satisfaction and retention
- Work closely with the Vice President of Digital & Enterprise Accounts on enterprise‑level and strategic accounts to identify opportunities for new or expanded digital services
- Availability after hours to respond to outages or security issues
- Word Press site development, customization and UI/UX design skills
- MYSQL Administration
- ADA/WCAG accessibility compliance
- Plugin and theme configuration
- Responsive and mobile optimization
- Debugging and troubleshooting
- Cloudflare
- Google Analytics & Google Search Console
- Website security, backup, and uptime tools
- WAF
- 5+ years of professional website or digital development experience preferred
- Strong expertise in Word Press website design and hosting
- Prior leadership, lead developer, or management experience preferred
- Strong client‑service background
- Ability to manage staff and deadlines while producing work
- Strong communication and organizational skills
