Overview Direct Support Professional II - Awake Overnight

Pay: $21.50/hr awake hours (additional $1/hr differential for active MAP certification)

This role provides direct support or services with a higher level of skill or experience, contributing to our service recipients' care and support while maintaining quality, service excellence and ethical standards. This role may train or supervise direct support employees and works closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans that align with each person's goals and needs. Responsibilities

Position Snapshot:
Some of the duties of a Support Advocate may include the following depending on the abilities of those residing in the home and the needs of the program:
Assist and/or teach individuals varying levels of personal care which may include bathing, toileting, teeth brushing, etc.; assist and/or teach individuals household maintenance, meal prep and/or shopping, while providing ongoing opportunities for individuals to assume increasing control & responsibility over their daily lives; accompany individuals on appointments; administer medications (or support them to self‑medicate) in accordance with residential guidelines; follow routines of the individuals including behavior support plans, personal care, physical therapy, etc.

Support Advocates are responsible for the provision of day‑to‑day services to our program participants. They assist and/or teach individuals varying levels of personal care which may include bathing, toileting, teeth brushing, etc. They assist and/or teach individuals household maintenance, meal prep and/or shopping while providing ongoing opportunities for individuals to assume increasing control & responsibility over their daily lives. Support Advocates may also accompany individuals on appointments.

They administer medications (or support them to self‑medicate) in accordance with residential guidelines. They follow routines of the individuals including behavior support plans, personal care, physical therapy, etc.

Support Advocates receive a paid 5‑day New Employee Orientation and training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP). They also receive program‑specific training at the work site.
