Part-time medical receptionist/medical assistant needed for busy multi-provider outpatient mental health office (possibility of full-time may be available). Seeking an energetic, service-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and positive attitude, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting. This job position is two-part role: the employee will serve as a medical receptionist as well as a TMS Technician. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an alternative treatment method for patients who with treatment resistant depression.
TMS technician training will be provided by this office.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent interpersonal skills. A positive, nonjudgmental, unbiased demeanor is critical
- Outgoing and proactive work style with proven ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Computer skills, with proficiency in Windows based software. Previous experience using Electronic Medical Records is preferred
- Proficiency in verbal and written English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
- Ability to abide by HIPAA and other regulatory policies
- Previous experience working in a medical office with familiarity with procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette is preferred
- Medical Assistant certification or previous experience working in healthcare/mental health is recommended, but not required
- Answering and triaging incoming calls
- Checking in patients for their appointments (verify insurance information, demographics, etc.)
- Faxing, scanning, filing
- Collecting copayments and outstanding balances (batch and balance at end of day)
- Covering co-workers’ vacation/sick/personal time
- Opening and/or closing the office multiple days per week
- Other duties as assigned by office manager
- Hands‑on contact and interaction with patients when checking patient vital signs and administering TMS treatment
