Controller.
A private equity–backed industrial company with a long-standing track record of operational excellence and growth. Headquartered in the Greater Boston area, the organization operates multiple sites across the U.S. and internationally, serving a broad range of customers in diverse end markets.
Following a recent recapitalization, the company is entering an exciting phase of transformation focused on modernization, scalability, and strategic acquisitions. With approximately $70 million in revenue and a plan to exceed $100 million over the next five years, the business is actively strengthening its finance function to support continued expansion and integration efforts.
Purpose of the PositionThe Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting and reporting activities across U.S. and international operations. Reporting to the CFO, this individual will manage consolidations, audits, tax compliance, cash management, and process improvements across a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to modernize and professionalize the accounting organization—building team capability, driving automation, and implementing scalable processes that enable continued growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, technically strong, and proactive finance leader with experience in complex operational environments and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting operations, including month‑end close, consolidations, and general ledger management.
- Own the financial close process with a goal to achieve a 4‑day close.
- Establish and maintain SOPs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage external audits and tax compliance processes; oversee lender and investor reporting requirements.
- Partner with the CFO to ensure accurate and timely financial information supporting decision‑making.
- Enhance ERP utilization and drive automation across accounting processes.
- Lead the completion of financial consolidation setup within the ERP environment.
- Introduce checklists, dashboards, and process documentation to improve efficiency and accountability.
- Oversee and develop a lean accounting team; conduct talent assessments and identify growth opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with FP&A and operational leaders to strengthen collaboration and transparency.
- Support integration of acquisitions and process alignment across entities.
- Contribute to due diligence, onboarding, and post‑close financial consolidation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing insights that drive performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a multi‑entity or global organization.
- Strong ERP experience
- Proven ability to lead audits, lender reporting, and financial consolidations.
- Hands‑on and detail‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communicator and team builder with a track record of process improvement and automation.
