What will you be doingBe part of a team that operates the Cohasset, Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Facility and Collection System. Contribute to daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system to achieve 100% compliance. If you enjoy working outdoors and protecting water resources, this position is for you. In this role you will be directly involved with the overall daily operations and general maintenance of equipment at a 0.45 MGD membrane bioreactor (M ) wastewater treatment facility. Duties include daily rounds, laboratory analysis, record keeping, process control, sludge thickening, maintenance projects, and general facility and grounds maintenance.
Work is performed safely and professionally by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. Operators participate in an on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal work hours. Shifts will include weekends. The daily schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
What you will need to succeed- Minimum Massachusetts Grade III license
- Minimum of two years of experience in a wastewater treatment facility, operation, and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education
- High school or trade school diploma
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of biological/chemical treatment processes with aptitude for laboratory analysis, record keeping, and facility maintenance
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs regularly
- Successful candidates must complete a background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen before employment
Salary: $22 - $27 an hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
