Applications Engineering – Applications Specialist
Join IDEX Corporation’s Applications Engineering team as an Applications Specialist. In this role you will support field sales with technical assistance and conduct lab testing of customer samples for milling and screening applications. Your work will span multiple functions—including field and channel sales, engineering, product marketing, and lab staff—serving as a conduit between inside and outside sales to deliver engineering and application solutions.
We are looking for a self‑motivated professional with deep knowledge of process engineering and a passion for translating technical concepts into tangible value for customers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct powder processing testing for customer lab samples.
- Generate test reports and document results in the Applications database.
- Interact with customers to understand needs, convey results, and deliver value propositions.
- Evaluate new designs for core technology through experiments, analysis, literature searches, and customer collaborations.
- Accompany sales channels on calls when required for commercial and technical support.
- Assist inside sales coordinators with applications, quotations, and optimal solutions.
- Explain and demonstrate the operation, utility, and benefits of Fitzpatrick & Quadro milling equipment.
- Communicate suggestions for process and product improvement.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations on Fitzpatrick & Quadro products.
- Stay current with industry developments and related equipment.
- Travel regularly to specified regions and attend industry events as needed.
- Post‑secondary education in Engineering (Process or Mechanical Engineering preferred); minimum 2‑5 years of experience in applications engineering.
- Experience in oral solid dosing processing or related industries is an asset.
- Experience with production and characterization is desired.
- Experience with powder processing equipment and medium‑to‑large scale equipment is desired.
- Hands‑on mechanical skills and familiarity with computer‑aided design tools, prints, and schematics.
- Basic knowledge of metals, powders, material characteristics, pneumatics, and electronics.

Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $76,200.00 – $, depending on experience. Eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.
